Be Real... Jesus came to bring the real you to life! - Day 18: Thirty Day Meditations to Abundant Life!

You are heavy. I'm not talking about your weight on the bathroom scale. I mean, your spiritual weight, as a child of God. It's not something that can be measured. But sadly, too many a believer in Christ think they're as light as a feather... they see injustice and do nothing, they see pain and turn away, they see hardship and give up. And you know why? It's not because they're callous and indifferent, it's because they don't know who they really are!

Do you know who you really are in Christ? Jesus had to fight for His identity. And if He did, how much more do we?

It was the dawn before He set out to preach the gospel to the poor, open the eyes of the blind, liberate the prisoners and declare their freedom. 40 days He had fasted in the deserts of the land and that's when Satan came... "If You are the Son of God, then..." You know the story. It was an attack on His identity. That dragon is still doing the same today. He is attacking you're identity! And there's a reason for that... when the sons of God know who they are, the gates of hell will come crashing down.

There's a cloud hanging over many a saint. It's like an unspoken teaching,

You're not good enough.

You'll come to nothing.

What can you possibly do?

Just go back and stick to what you've been doing all your life... nothing.

Leave it to the pros.

Don't dream big, be humble.

Wow. We're suckers aren't we. What is it that keeps us in the land of averageness and mediocrity? What keeps us from stepping out and being bold? We are denying ourselves alright, but not in the way Jesus spoke about. We are denying our true selves from shining, from being. Here's what the Bible says about who you really are...

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Luke 10:19

And the glory which You gave Me I have given them [that's you!]
John 17:22

You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:9

There was once a woman who was sick with a demonly disease. It made her back arch down and she could never stand up straight. This continued for 18 years. Until one day, she comes to the presence of Jesus. All were there to do religion... but Jesus was there to give life. He sees her and says "Woman, you are set free!" And she stood up. The leader there could not understand how Jesus 'worked' - miracle or not - on the sacred sabbath. So you know what He did? He faced the man and in the presence of all rebuked him... "Hypocrite!" When facing these kind of people  He didn't shy away from confronting them in the strongest words... "Sons of the Devil!", "Brood of Vipers!" Understand, these weren't metaphors. Here were evil ones preventing people from being blessed by God.

Our identity in Christ  has been stripped of all strength and might when we think that we have to be docile and meek and just 'hang in there' and wait. I am not against humility, but rather false humility.

It's time you faced your giants. It's time you found your strength, your courage and your call. You are a son, a daughter of the Most High, a King Priest! You have the power to change the world for better, starting from within and from home, before anything else. You need not be enslaved and beaten by the traitor of the flesh within. You need not be impotent in the face of the world's lies and evil ways. And you need not fear to stand up to the demons who are desperately trying to keep the real you asleep. As long you're in that deathly stupor, where you don't know who you are and you don't be who you are, Satan is safe and the world is not.

Thank You Jesus! For you have not left us like lambs to the slaughter. If we are like lambs, it is that we are gentle with those who need your love and lions against those who seek to prevent that love from being known. We don't wage a war against flesh and blood, but you've called us by Your Name, the Name above all Names that breaks the kingdom of hell and restores the children of God to glory. And now, I ask that you stretch out Your hand, that we in all boldness and true to our true nature in You, would perform great signs and wonders and that the good news of Your will, Your love and Your word would be received by the many, from every tongue, nation, tribe and people! In Jesus' Name, Amen!
